How the slow motion maker works
Your video is uploaded over HTTPS and processed on Rekreate's servers with FFmpeg. The video's timing is stretched by your chosen factor, and the sound is time-stretched so voices keep their pitch.
With smooth motion on, FFmpeg analyzes how things move between frames and generates new in-between frames from that motion, producing a fluid 30 or 60 fps result. It is much more work than a plain slowdown, which is why it is limited to clips of 30 seconds. Uploads are deleted after processing, results after 60 minutes.
