What is Kling AI?

Kling is a diffusion-transformer video model developed by Kuaishou's AI team. It is known for realistic human motion and physics, strong image-to-video fidelity and, more recently, director-style control: multi-shot storyboards, start and end frames, reference images and reference videos.

Kling is available on Kuaishou's own Kling AI app and API and through many platforms. Its Motion Control feature — copying the choreography of a reference video onto a new character — made it especially popular for dance trends, UGC remakes and meme formats on TikTok and Reels.

Kling prompting basics

  1. Lead with the subject and action, then environment, then camera: "A barista slides a latte across the counter, steam rising; café at golden hour; slow dolly in, shallow depth of field."
  2. Use negative prompts to avoid artifacts: blurry hands, extra fingers, text, watermark.
  3. For image-to-video, don't re-describe the image — describe the motion you want.
  4. In multi-shot mode, give each shot its own duration, framing and action, and keep character descriptions identical across shots.
  5. Audio: write dialogue in quotes and name the language or accent.
