Almost every brand eventually loses its source files and ends up with a logo that only exists as a blurry JPG on an old invoice. Rekreate's image generator, running Ideogram, can recreate it: sharp edges, correct proportions, readable type and a transparent PNG you can drop on any background.
It is also the fastest way to test variations — the same mark in one colour, in white for dark video, or redrawn in a different style — before paying a designer for the final vector.
- Upload any copy of the logo: screenshot, photo of a sign, old PDF export.
- Get a clean high-resolution image, including transparent background versions.
- Great for social, video intros and ad creatives; for print and scaling you still want a real vector file.
- Only recreate logos you own or are authorised to use.

How to recreate a logo
Upload the best copy you have
Crop tight to the mark, straighten it, and remove any background clutter before uploading.
Describe it precisely
Name the exact wording, the layout and the colours: "Wordmark 'NORDBERG' in a geometric sans, all caps, letter-spaced, deep navy #14213D on transparent background, the triangle symbol centred above the text."
Ask for transparency
Request a transparent background so the logo can sit on video, dark headers and packaging mockups.
Check the letterforms
Read every character out loud against the original. Type is where AI logos slip — regenerate until the spelling and spacing are exact.
What you get
| Details | |
|---|---|
| Output | High-resolution raster image (PNG), transparent background on request |
| Good for | Social profiles, video intros and outros, ad creatives, presentations, mockups |
| Not a replacement for | A true vector (SVG/AI/EPS) for large print, embroidery or engraving |
| Model | Ideogram — the strongest of our models at rendering text inside images |
| Variations | One-colour, white-on-dark, stacked and horizontal lockups from the same reference |
Recreate, redraw or redesign?
Recreate when the logo is right and only the file is broken: same mark, cleaner edges, correct colour, transparent background.
Redraw in a new style when you want to test a direction — the same name set in a serif, a flat version of a gradient mark, a monogram pulled out of the full lockup. Generate five options in minutes and pick before briefing a designer.
Redesign when the brand itself is changing. AI is a fast sketchpad here, but the final identity — a real vector, a type licence, spacing rules — still comes from a designer.
A practical rule: if the logo will be printed larger than a business card, have the recreated image traced into a proper vector before you use it.
Use it on your own marks. Recreating another company's logo to pass it off as yours, or to build merchandise and fake endorsements, infringes trademark. Recreating your own brand's lost files, or working with the owner's permission, is fine.
Frequently asked questions
Can AI recreate my logo from a photo?
Yes. Upload a screenshot, a photo of signage or an old export, describe the exact wording and colours, and the generator rebuilds a clean high-resolution version.
Will I get a vector SVG file?
No. The output is a high-resolution raster image with optional transparency. For large-format print, embroidery or infinite scaling, have that image traced into a vector afterwards.
Can I get a transparent background?
Yes, ask for a transparent background and the generator produces a PNG with an alpha channel, ready for video overlays and dark backgrounds.
Why does the text in my logo come out wrong?
Text is the hardest part for image models. Put the exact wording in quotes, keep it short, name the typeface style, and regenerate until every character matches. Ideogram is the model we use because it handles type best.
Is it legal to recreate a logo?
Recreate logos you own or have written permission to use. Reproducing someone else's trademark for your own products or marketing is infringement.
