Audio extractor vs other ways
vs. recording the sound while it plays
Re-recording adds noise and loses quality. Extracting takes the original track.
vs. converters that always re-encode
Converting to MP3 every time loses a little quality. "Original" keeps it exact.
vs. desktop editors
An editor can export audio too, with more steps.

How the audio extractor works
Your video is uploaded over HTTPS and processed on Rekreate's servers with FFmpeg. The picture is dropped and only the sound track is kept. With "Original", the track is copied into a matching audio file (for example AAC into M4A) without re-encoding. MP3 is encoded at high variable bitrate, and WAV is saved as 16-bit, 48 kHz uncompressed audio.
Uploads are deleted after processing, results after 60 minutes.
